Bacon Veal Liver Appetizer

Spice up your get-togethers with this simple recipe and delicious mouth-watering appetizer.

Ingredients

Serves 4

  • 454 g (1 lb.) veal liver
  • 375 g Bacon (1 package)
  • 60 ml (¼ cup) honey Dijon mustard, for dipping
  • 1 Lemon, cut into wedges
  • salt, crushed black pepper
  • 12 bamboo skewers

Preparation

  1. Trim the membrane off the liver.
  2. Pat the liver with paper towels to remove excess moisture and season with a little salt and pepper.
  3. Cut liver into 1 inch (2.5 cm) cubes.
  4. Cut bacon strips in half and wrap the bacon tightly around the liver.
  5. Secure the wrapped bacon liver with the skewer this will hold the bacon in place. Place three to four per skewer.
  6. Set oven to broil setting.
  7. Broil until bacon is crispy on one side, then turn and repeat (about 6-8 minutes each side).
Serve with honey Dijon mustard in a bowl for dipping with lemon wedges.
